Meta ads reporting
Facebook ads reporting for agencies, drafted every week
RoboMarketer's Marketing Analyst reads each client's Meta ads data and drafts a weekly report with spend, leads and cost per lead. You review it and send it.
Last updated
A Facebook ads reporting tool pulls Meta ads data for each client and turns it into a report they can read. RoboMarketer does that every week for every client, drafts the report, and leaves the final review and send to you.
What goes in a Facebook ads report
A good Facebook ads report answers three questions for the client: what did we spend, what did we get, and what are we doing next. At minimum that means spend, leads and cost per lead, plus a short note on what changed.
The core metrics, and why each one matters to a client:
| Metric | What it tells the client |
|---|---|
| Spend | How much of their budget went out this period |
| Leads | How many people raised a hand (form fills, messages, calls) |
| Cost per lead | What each lead cost, the number most clients care about |
| Week-over-week change | Whether things are getting better or worse |
| Notes | What you changed and why, in plain words |
| Next steps | What you'll do next week |
RoboMarketer's drafts cover spend, leads and cost per lead per client. You add or edit the notes before approving. Keep the report short. Most clients read the top line and the notes, and that's about it.
How RoboMarketer builds the report
RoboMarketer builds each report in five steps. After the one-time setup, your only job is the review.
Connect Meta
Link the client's Facebook and Instagram ad account. Instagram accounts used only in ads are included.
Turn on the weekly schedule
Pick the pre-built weekly reporting schedule. The report then drafts itself each week.
The Marketing Analyst drafts it
The Marketing Analyst, one of RoboMarketer's AI employees, reads the ad and social data and writes the report.
You review in Tasks
The draft waits in Tasks. Approve it, ask for a redo with feedback, or deny it.
Send it
Once approved, the report is ready to send to the client.
The AI runs on your own model key from OpenAI or another provider, and that provider bills you for usage.
One report per client
Each client gets a separate report from its own data. On the Agency plan, every client is a sub-account, and you get unlimited sub-accounts, so the reporting setup is the same whether you have three clients or thirty.
The Agency plan is also white-label. Your domain, logo and name show on every screen clients see, and clients sign in on your domain. If that matters to you, the white-label marketing platform page goes deeper.
Facebook ads report template
Here's a simple weekly Facebook ads report template you can copy, whether or not you use RoboMarketer. It follows the same layout as the reports RoboMarketer drafts: summary first, numbers second, plan last.
| Section | What to write |
|---|---|
| Summary | One or two sentences. "Leads were up this week and cost per lead came down." |
| Spend | Total Meta ad spend this week, and last week for comparison |
| Leads | Total leads this week, and last week |
| Cost per lead | Spend divided by leads, both weeks |
| What changed | Two or three bullets: new ads, budget moves, paused ad sets |
| Next steps | What you'll test or change next week |
A few tips from building these: put the summary first because it's the only part some clients read, and use the same layout every week so clients learn where to look. Write the notes as if the client has never opened Ads Manager, because most of them haven't.
Facebook ads report example
Below is a filled-in example of the template. The numbers are made up for illustration and are not from a real client.
| This week | Last week | |
|---|---|---|
| Spend | $700 | $650 |
| Leads | 35 | 26 |
| Cost per lead | $20 | $25 |
Summary: Leads went up and each lead cost less than last week.
What changed:
- Paused the ad set with the highest cost per lead.
- Moved that budget to the best-performing ad set (approved Monday).
- Launched two new images from the spring offer.
Next steps: Test a shorter headline on the top ad and check lead quality with the client's front desk.
The example shows the numbers once, explains them in plain words and ends with a plan. Keep that shape even if you change everything else.
Native Meta Ads Reporting vs an agency reporting tool
Meta's own reporting in Ads Manager is free and has more metrics than any client will ever read. An agency reporting tool is for turning that data into something a client can understand, every week, for every client. Here's a fair comparison.
| Meta Ads Reporting (in Ads Manager) | RoboMarketer | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Free | Business $97/month, Agency $297/month |
| Depth of Meta metrics | Yes | No, focuses on spend, leads and CPL |
| Written client report drafted for you each week | No | Yes |
| Approval step before the client sees it | No | Yes |
| Your agency's branding (white-label) | No | Yes (Agency plan) |
| Google Ads data | No | No |
If you have one client and enjoy building reports by hand, Ads Manager is fine. Once you have several clients, writing the same report over and over is where a tool earns its place.
RoboMarketer also drafts the ads themselves, so reporting and ad work live in the same place. Comparing Meta ads tools? See our page on Madgicx alternatives.
